Concert in a cheap dress :)

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win Lee Brice with Cole Swindell tickets on local country music station 98.7 WMZQ! The concert was last Friday night at a small outdoor venue in St. Leonard Maryland, which is about 90 minutes south of Baltimore. If you ever get a chance to see an artist here, I definitely recommended it- there are NO bad seats!

I planned on wearing a silk Yumi Kim sundress, but as I tried it on I got blood on in from a small nick on my leg from shaving! Fortunately the dry cleaners was able to remove the stain, but I was out of an outfit for the night. While running an errand, I found this simple cotton dress, with a beautiful bold pattern and the XS fit like a glove! I ended up wearing this with a pair of Tory Burch sandals.

J & I enjoying the show!

Run away with me....

Thanksgiving weekend I finally was able to cross off running a FULL marathon off my bucket list. I ran the NCR Trail Marathon in Sparks Maryland on a blustery 23 degree Saturday morning.
There is no feeling like it and until you do it, you won't get it.

Can't wait until March to run my next full :)

I love these race shots! I'm all similes the first 15 miles. As you can see in the few miles when the second was taken, I'm not feeling so hot! LOL

BRF 2013

This year has been my busiest year for running yet! On track to meet my goal of completing my first full marathon next month!

Yesterday, I completed the half in the Baltimore Running Festival. The BRF (as it's known to locals) is a huge event with 30,000 participants. I have ran in 3 other BRF's and it's always the most challenging course packed with hills. I met my goal yesterday and PR  which was under 2 hours at 1:59!! I feel great today and am looking forward to the full!

I purchased the Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS watch and was excited to use it for the first time! I was shocked to find how dead accurate it was! Previously I had been using apps on my phone such as Map My Run, which I found to be off by a half mile at times.

Pre-race

Post Race! And yes, Jon (a former Ravens cheerleader and current trainer) wore that Reno 911 costume, complete with glasses, stash, and baton the entire 13.1 miles!

Priceless.

O's, Bohs, and Cupcakes!

Friday April 5, 2013

Orioles Home Opener is like a holiday in Maryland. People play hooky from work and begin drinking way too early.

No I'm not joking!

This year I made some baseball and O's cupcakes. Yellow cake with cream cheese frosting.

New City-Same Blue Box

I have long heard of this "too good to be true" Nike Women's Marathon held each year in San Fransisco. As one runner described, the race is so unique featuring a, "Ghirardelli chocolate mile, bra bar, pre-race expotique and probably the most talked about feature, the Tiffany & Co. finisher’s necklace served upon silver platters at the finish line by handsome tuxedo clad local firefighters". Proceeds of the race go to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In other words, this is my kind of race!

If only it was closer....well now it is! I was so happy to open my email and see a message from Nike informing me that this same race is coming to DC! The only drawback is that it is only offered as a half, instead of a full.

Registration is open now and the price is discounted for college and graduate students! The race is only open to 15,000 people, so it will sell out quickly.

Here are some of the awesome Tiffany and Co necklaces for the finishers of the San Fran race! I can't wait to see what mine will look like :) In addition to the necklace, runners also get a Nike Dry Fit t-shit.

26.2 on 11-24-12

Last year I ran my very first half marathon (See post here ) and this November I am running my very first full marathon and couldn't be more nervous and excited at the same time :)
Running has become my ultimate stress relief and don't feel the same if I skip a run.
miles...ugh.

And no, don't worry I won't be putting any tacky sticker on my car to show off my ability, but I do think I may buy this little charm to add on my Ravens necklace.

Well here is some of my awesome inspiration....hope it can inspire you too!

and remember:

The Bubbly

What says party more then champagne?
I cannot think of a wedding, NYE, or a Sunday brunch without the bubby.

I've always liked Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label- it's fairly inexpensive and has a nice crisp taste.
If you were wondering, in 50 Shades of Grey, Ana and Mr. Grey sip Bollinger Rose.
