For years I've lusted over the iconic black quilted Chanel bag. I'm not sure if it is the chain strap, or the classic leather exterior- but this simple bag is something I'll be left dreaming after since they are over $5k. Chanel sells different styles, sizes and materials, but unfortunately all carry a hefty price tag.

 

I've seen the real deal in person and it's amazingly soft and well made. Chanel also refurbishes old bags (for a charge of course) but can make an expensive purchase into a lifetime product.

Great Gatsby

I'm beyond excited to see the new movie, The Great Gatsby, which of course is an adaptation of
 F. Scott Fitzgerald's fiction novel. Set in the 1920's, the jazz age fashion is to die for, including men sporting great suits and women wearing dresses complete with beads and fringe detailing.

When we purchased our home, we purchased it new. It was great to be able to pick and choose what we wanted, from cabinets to appliances- the customization seemed endless. One thing we opted for was the master bedroom suite- a larger room with a larger bathroom, neither of which were a selling point for me. What got me? The master closet. This mini room provides about the same square footage as many college dorm rooms. It would be great for a couple to share, but in our case I have way too much stuff and Jason is forced to use to the closet in the spare.

The problem however, is that any space looks large when empty. Only a few after moving in, what once appeared a vast space became full, jumbled, and annoying.

Annoyed because when you have every option to customize your home, they let some man (it just had to be a man) customize my closet by hanging shelves in the stupidest of ways. Jason's friend is in the home remodeling business and is supposed to come redo this disaster, I'm not holding my breath.

One good thing did come while trying to make some order out of the clutter in my closet- I stumbled upon this jem:

This adorable rabbit fur trimmed Coach evening style bag was a limited edition a few years back.

Definitely will be coming with me on our honeymoon to St. Lucia!

If I could just find some money I didn't know I had.....

Ghosts of Purses Past

There is a section of my closet reserved for the handbags I just don't carry anymore, but cannot bear to part with. Companions of yesterday, these bags went everywhere I did and now, they sit ide on a shelf, collecting dust and taking up very valuable space.

Michael Kors "Brookville"

Donald J. Pliner

The first is a bone colored Michael Kors leather satchel, style was Brookville. Great bag, shows signs of wear- but I think she still has some life left in her.

The second is from Donald J. Pliner. Also leather, this zip top shoulder strap bag is more white than cream.

I carried both for quite some time as my "daily bag" and many people said, "why are you buying a white bag? It will get ruined!" This is only true if your 7 years old and luckily for me, I'm up about 21 years.

I say all this to say, I posted both on Ebay. I was shocked to see someone had the same Kors bag listed in the same used condition for $170, plus shipping. Donald J. Pliner (a better bag for sure, however lesser known designer) bags were selling as well for way more then I expected. I took a gamble and listed both, now let's see if they sell! There are others, I just started with these, I don't want to waste a bunch of time listing on Ebay for nothing.
