MAD MEN Style

I am really really excited for this! Banana Republic is launching a new line inspired by the ANC TV show Mad Men. The clothes will all have that 1960's vintage style that I just adore! The looks are feminine, timeless, and exude class and sophistication. The line has been described by news sources as:

"Banana interprets the ladylike chic of the era with fitted dresses, high-waisted skirts and tie-neck blouses, while the men’s collection includes suit separates, sweaters and fitted trousers. Fedoras are a must."

The entire collection is slated to hit stores August 11 and also supposed to still carry Banana Republic's reasonable price tags.

Here is great look I found while browsing the preview online:

13.1

I have decided that I am ready to do my first half marathon...yikes! I signed up today and there's no backing out now :) I signed up for the Baltimore Running Festival and it is this October 15th.

When I was in the police academy I realized my love hate relationship with running. I LOVE the feeling I get when I'm done, I LOVE listening to my ipod, I LOVE the scenery and fresh air and I LOVE the results it's had on my body :) However, I HATE the way my knees ache and I HATE the regret feeling I have from a few drunk cigs. So since there are more LOVES then HATES, I guess I will continue running.

I did my first 5k in DC for the police memorial last year. It was great to run with co-workers and other officers from agencies from all over the country for such a great cause. I signed up again this year :)

After the ease of the 5k, I decided to sign up with 3 of my girls for the Baltimore Running Festival last fall for the Relay. As team FAB 4- we rocked it!

It seems only reasonable that the natural progression would be the half- double what I ran in the relay.

So wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!!

Smell Good

I picked up this fragrance at the duty free gift shop in St. Lucia on my honeymoon (I rather have something I will use to remember a trip- not Jason, he got a t-shirt and a beer mug :) )

I love love love the smell! Perfect and light for summer :)

Bride by Victoria's Secret

Victoria Secret has the CUTEST bride stuff and I have some awesome friends (aka bridesmaids) that bought it for me!

Garter:

Something blue and adorable! Reads "Sexy Little Bride"

Panties:

I had the lace with "bride" in rhinestones. Although I did not wear at my wedding, I wore them on the honeymoon :)

Airport apparel:

Off to St. Lucia, I wore this adorable teal tank that was encrusted in rhinestones, "Just Married".
Apparently everyone else thought this was just as cute as me because I saw a ton of girls wearing it! LOL

Isle Style

When I began to plan my wedding, I envisioned the look I wanted for my bridesmaids. I wanted them to look like they were at a cocktail party and not at some cheesy prom.

Here were my selections:

David's Bridal Short Pleated Satin Strapless Dress in Black
For the girls jewelery, I wanted to keep that same style going, but to keep it elegant. I chose the following set of bangles which is comprised of 2 pearl stands, 2 silver, and 1 black lacquer. For the earrings I went with an antique style stud- staying in the silver family.

Earrings
Set of Bangles

Silver Glitter Flip Flops for reception

One day= 6237466478 hours

That's right, it's crazy how ONE day can consume SO much of your time. There is the people: caterer, venue, cake maker, DJ, photographer, limo, bridesmaids, groomsman, dress shop, alterations, licensing, transportation, etc.

The next few posts will be all about our special day that took place on 7-9-11 and the D.I.Y. touches that would make Martha oh so proud :)

Engagement pics- 2 years late....

So 2 years (almost to the day) after "he put a ring on it" we did our engagement photos. We took them at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the inner harbor, and outside of M & T Bank Stadium- all places we frequent. Unfortunately it was ridiciuolsly hot that day, but we still had a good time :)
The photographer of these above photos is James Garrett and he is amazing. We love his style, his partner (his lovely wife), and his ability to capture us. Garrett will also be shooting our wedding this Saturday!

Check out his amazing photos on his website:

Hello Kitty!!

When I get a cut that requires a bandage- I go for my Hello Kitty Band-Aids!

They were only $2.00 at Target and I just love them :) I have one on my arm today and got a couple laughs at work!

Apparently they are the celb's choice too, see Mariah Carey and Carrie Underwood rocking them too!
