DIY art

I recently came across a blog post that was featuring this "art". I love the beachey feel, with a few simple colors offering the illusion of the ocean seascape. I also love the frameless work and three dimensional aspect of the recycled reclaimed wood.

I didn't buy it. It was being sold for a redic amount of money and it also is something anyone could do. It's both super easy and relatively cheap. I have since found varations of it, some with more boards than others- I prefer the top picture created with 3 boards over the one pictured below, which was an old door. I'm thinking a wood pallet or beadboard may work as well...

This is my next DIY project- I can't wait to start!

Post Wedding Ideas

Our wedding was 4 months ago and just yesterday I finally picked up my wedding dress from the alterations store. They called and said, "hon, did you forget your dress is here?" I did forget and honestly I do not really need it anymore! I still have not selected the pictures for our album from our photographer. Everything leading up to the wedding was a rush, a time crunch, and a mad dash to get everything just right.

Here are some cute wedding projects online that maybe, one day, I will actually do or buy :)

Clothes for your walls

I love the website Etsy.com- which is like the Ebay for art, antiques, and unique handmade items. One of my favorite artists on the site is Gemini Studio based out of Chicago. Many of his designs are customizable too. Below are some of my favorites:

Just like Sadie!

 Love this!

Can do any town! I love he has already done B-more :)

Here is the link to him on Etsy:

I asked the artist if it was okay for me to feature him on DomesticatedOfficer.com.
